
Biography
As a soloist, Machteld has performed, among others, Fauré's Requiem, Handel's Dixit Dominus, Rossini's Petite Messe solemnele and the St. Matthew Passion. She has also been part of the world premieres of Diamanda La Berge Dramm's Shouting horn concert at the Oranjewoud Festival in 2021 and at Raskatov's opera production of George Orwell's Animal Farm at the National Opera in Amsterdam in 2023.

She was part of the Opera Forward Festival in 2018 & 2019 from the National Opera in Amsterdam, where she was allowed to develop and perform a short opera, among other things. In 2020 she participated in the Performing Opera Summer School and performed at the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam.
During her studies she was able to perform the roles of Pamina and Second Lady from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. Last summer she performed the role of Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro in the Lichtruim in Bilthoven.

She received masterclasses from Nico van der Meel, Paul McNamara, Margreet Honig, Eelko Molenaar, Elsina Jansen, Wilfred van de Peppel, David Prins and Rosemary Joshua.

Machteld Vossen (1996) is from Utrecht, the Netherlands. At the age of 8, Machteld started her musical career at an early age. After singing in various training choirs throughout her childhood, such as the National Children's Choir and the National Youth Choir Mixed of the National Choirs, and in the Dutch Student Chamber Choir, she decided to continue her musical journey at the conservatory. After completing a bachelor's degree with Hanneke de Wit and Paul Triepels, she is currently coached by Margreet Honig (Amsterdam) and Hans Adolfsen (Zürich).

In addition to her activities as a performing musician, Machteld also gives private singing lessons.
